Se trata de un paso fundamental para proteger la salud del oc\u00e9ano. Fue coescrito por la\u00a0 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/soaperu\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sustainable Ocean Alliance<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Per\u00fa y el Consejo Asesor de Pol\u00edticas para la Juventud de SOA, y cuenta con el apoyo de The Oxygen Project, ecOce\u00e1nica, AIDA y Deep Sea Conservation Coalition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El congresista M\u00e1laga tambi\u00e9n organiz\u00f3 una audiencia p\u00fablica sobre el oc\u00e9ano el 17 de junio, con algunos de los principales expertos y l\u00edderes medioambientales del pa\u00eds. Daniel C\u00e1ceres Bartra, Representante Regional de la SOA en Am\u00e9rica Latina, aplaude al legislador por trabajar para hacer foco sobre esta importante cuesti\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Si se permite la explotaci\u00f3n minera de los fondos marinos, se causar\u00e1 un da\u00f1o incalculable al ya fr\u00e1gil ecosistema oce\u00e1nico&#8221;, explica C\u00e1ceres Bartra. &#8220;Ning\u00fan beneficio econ\u00f3mico puede justificarlo, y necesitamos que m\u00e1s l\u00edderes mundiales como el diputado M\u00e1laga se enfrenten a la industria minera y protejan los \u00faltimos ecosistemas intactos de nuestro planeta&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theoxygenproject.com\/es\/deepseamining\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Haz clic aqu\u00ed para firmar la carta contra la miner\u00eda de los fondos marinos<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SOA y muchas otras organizaciones mundiales est\u00e1n luchando para lograr una moratoria sobre la miner\u00eda de los fondos marinos durante al menos 10 a\u00f1os. Creemos firmemente que la miner\u00eda de los fondos marinos es una amenaza injustificada para la salud de nuestro oc\u00e9ano y para las generaciones presentes y futuras que dependen de \u00e9l. Son pocos los que se van a beneficiar de esta pr\u00e1ctica, pero son muchos los que se ver\u00e1n afectados.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Este verano, los pa\u00edses se reunir\u00e1n en la 27\u00aa sesi\u00f3n de la Autoridad Internacional de los Fondos Marinos. Mientras la ISA (Autoridad Internacional de los Fondos Marinos por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) se apresura a crear normas para la explotaci\u00f3n de los minerales de los fondos marinos, el liderazgo de Per\u00fa muestra al mundo que una moratoria es una opci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica v\u00e1lida que se basa en el derecho humano a un medio ambiente limpio, sano y sostenible y en el principio de precauci\u00f3n.
